Hair Care Conditioning

Swimming and Hair Care?
I have recently started lap swimming 3-4 times a week and am concerned about the damages it will inflict to my hair. I have fairly fine naturally amber-brown hair and don’t want to have my color bleached by the chlorine. I am planning on procuring a swim cap this weekend but was looking for some kind of conditioning treatment or some sort of hair care regimen. I’m mildly allergic to sulfites in shampoos (so I’ve been using Bed Head Superstar shampoo and conditioner). Any suggestions?
Chlorine will leave your hair…with the right treatment.
ALWAYS WET YOUR HAIR THOROUGHLY IN THE SHOWER OR SINK BEFORE ENTERING THE POOL!
You need to use a deep cleansing shampoo immediately after swimming. Redken Cleansing Creme will deep clean the hair and remove a large amount of the chlorine without stripping your color. I don’t know of any other deep cleansing shampoo that can claim that! A deep conditioning treatment once per week in addition to daily regular conditioning will do the trick for keeping it healthy.
It is essential to receive a mineral removal treatment once per month at the salon, followed immediately by a deep conditioning treatment.
Follow this advice and you will win the chlorine battle. I fight it everyday in the salon and I win by implementing the above proven methods.
